Tecroc's firm fix for dockside buffer zone

HIGH strength TecGrip V polyester resin anchor grout played a crucial role in the repositioning of concrete fenders as part of a jetty refurbishment project at the Texaco refinery, Pembroke Dock, South Wales.

Main contractor Edmund Nuttall Limited selected TecGrip V, which proved ideal for bonding in four Dywidag bars used to position the fenders, each weighing around 100 tonnes.

The two component grout was poured into 2.5 metre deep upward facing holes into which the bars were inserted and then allowed to cure prior to the attachment of a lifting frame for final positioning of the fenders. These are used to protect the dockside from impact by vessels entering the terminal.

TecGrip V is formulated for use in vertical holes and is part of a family of high strength polyester resin anchor grouts. It achieves a typical compressive strength of 40 N/mmÓ in two hours at 20ĄC, rising to 80 N/mmÓ at one day and 95 N/mmÓ at 7 days. Typical tensile strength is 17 N/mmÓ at 7 days.

Full details of the TecGrip range can be requested by direct e-mail link via this website.
