All hands to the pump with new Mortar

TECROC Products has launched a new high strength pump-placed mortar ideal for infilling and providing structural support on infill situations particularly in conjunction with precast concrete units.

TECROC Pumpable Mortar is suitable for placing in horizontal and vertical gaps requiring a cementitious mortar infill and where flow grouting is inappropriate and conventional dry packing is too labour intensive.

The mortar is injected using a proprietary hand gun into gaps from 5mm to 50mm and up to 300mm deep using different nozzles.

Pumpable Mortar provides a high strength void-free bond, typically achieving a compressive strength of 20N/mm2 at 24 hours (20°C), rising to 53N/mm2 at 28days.

The Portland cement based mix design has been specially formulated to produce a low water requirement and incorporates shrinkage compensating elements.

TECROC Pumpable Mortar provides key advantages over conventional mortar mixes, including the consistency in quality and performance only achievable with factory-batched products, minimal wastage due to accurate gun application and a non-shrink formulation to ensure complete surface contact within the filled gap.

Additionally, accurate hand gun placing avoids unnecessary staining in architectural precast applications and provides early high strength.

The mortar is chloride-free and can safely be used in contact with steel reinforcement, metallic fixings or ironwork.

Requiring only standard surface preparation and dampening of the work area, the material can be used in temperatures ranging from 5°C to 45°C
